The EggCon Era began around February 2009 and continued until October 30, 2012. It was preceded by the Web Site Era and occurred both concurrently with and was followed by the VaultWiki Era.
The era began during the aftermath of Ted Phillips completing his studies at New York University. Although EggCon itself was not the sole focus of the era, the EggCon Era is so named because the convention marked a focal point for the studio during this time, which saw multiple corporate milestones, increased staffing and collaboration, and an increase in project development across various mediums.
Even so, the era did heavily focus first on creating new projects and content to be announced at, and later developed and produced projects which had been promised by, the convention. The era was cut short due to the temporal and financial burdens of Hurricane Sandy and surrounding disasters.
