Nick and Ted's Excellent Game was a video game development company founded on June 21, 1997, by Nick Phillips, Ted Phillips, and Bill Como. It was only associated with one known released video game, Croquet Capers in 1999.

History

On June 21, 1997, Nick and Ted attended John Como's high school graduation party at the Como residence, where other attendees were playing a sport called croquet. After playing for a while, Ted was dismayed that he would not be able to play at home. After a discussion with Bill Como, they collaborated on an early build of Croquet Capers for Ted to play a computerized version at home. As part of the collaboration, they formed the company Nick and Ted's Excellent Game.

Although they continued to collaborate on video game projects for several years, no other video game received the company's splash logo. However, many video games and software projects developed by company executives from the company's founding until the founding of Noey Games in 2001, especially ones written in the BASIC language, are typically considered to have been developed by the company. Perhaps the most notable game attributed in this way was Tomb Raider IV aka The Lost Pyramid.

Nick and Ted's Excellent Game was merged into Cracked Egg Studios in September 2005, when Cracked Egg Studios took control of all development copies of the company's projects that had survived the decommissioning of the Aptiva computer and the white computer on January 8, 2003.
