New Releases was the final name of a sub-forum that was one of the original sub-forums when the forum launched on June 6, 2005, originally with a forum ID of #3, in the forum category The Next-Gen Entertainment Alternative. It was originally called "The Vault." Its original purpose was to discuss past media projects of the studio, such as those found in the archives.

Between January 13-18, 2006, the entire forum was recreated manually when the software changed from Web Wiz Forums to phpBB. While Web Wiz had separated data for forum categories from that of sub-forums, phpBB stored their data together. This change resulted in the forum ID for The Vault changing to #6. At this time, the sub-forum Games was moved under The Vault.
On or about December 14, 2006, the forum was partially reorganized to facilitate the development of Crackipedia. The Vault sub-forum was renamed to "New Releases," and its description was respectively changed:
On October 7, 2009, the Studio tab was reorganized and New Releases was removed. Most of its existing threads were merged into another sub-forum called Studio Questions and Discussion.
On or about December 14, 2006, the forum was partially reorganized to facilitate the development of Crackipedia. The Vault sub-forum was renamed to "New Releases," and its description was respectively changed:
At the same time, a new sub-forum named "The Vault" (#31) was created in the same forum category, and New Releases was moved under that, with existing threads being moved from New Releases to the new "The Vault" to align with these sub-forums' updated purposes.
