History

Baby Penguin was given to the semifinalists of the Master of Duels IV tournament in March 2004, which was hosted by the historical Free United Club of Kids earlier that year. The card was taken from a dream that Ted Phillips had in 2003, which along with influence from the TK Seya's comments below, became the subject of Ni-Ki-Oh! S04E08, entitled Eight Violent Penguins.

The card was reprinted beginning August 6, 2007 in the DMT2 Tournament Pack, a promotional expansion pack legal during the Cracked Egg Studios-sanctioned Duel Monsters Tournament II.

Stupid Combo:

Your opponent has Red Eyes Darkness Dragon on the field at 6000/2000. They have no other cards but they still have 14000 LP. The Field, played by you, is A Legendary Ocean. You draw Baby Penguin, just what you needed. You play Baby Penguin and activate The League of Uniform Nomenclature. This gets out the other two Baby Penguins in your deck. You then play two copies of Triangle Power, boosting your Baby Penguins to each having 4700 ATK and 4500 DEF. Then, as your opponent laughs at your inability to win, you play Delta Attacker. The three Baby Penguins direct for 14100 LP of damage. Gay-muh End-uh.
