The Coop is the current name of a major forum category in the CES forum that was created in 2006 with a forum ID of #3. It was originally called "General Discussion," and it has contained various off-topic sub-forums.
On June 11, 2006, General Discussion received a new sub-forum called "Forum Questions" (#27), a place for users to seek help with using various features of the forums, with the intention of becoming a knowledgebase.
On July 21, 2007, the sub-forum Forum Questions was removed, with most of its threads being merged into the "Web Site" project in the newly installed project and issue tracking system using vBulletin Project Tools .
On or about July 3, 2008, "General Discussion" was renamed to "The Coop," when the forums were reorganized to have more egg-themed names.
On or about July 6, 2008, the "Support" link under The Coop was renamed to "Web Site Issues and Support."
On or about April 12, 2009, The Coop received a new sub-forum called "Random Questions (#133), a place for question and answer threads loosely related to other web site content, specifically intended to drive search engine content to the site.
On July 7, 2009, the web site was reorganized into various tabs to in order to separate VaultWiki-related content from other studio content and offer a more professional presentation for VaultWiki licensing and support. As part of this restructuring, The Coop was moved to under the new Studio tab.
On October 7, 2009, the sub-forum Random Questions was merged into We Don't Care, and We Don't Care was renamed to "General Questions and Discussion." The sub-forum Productions and Publications was moved to under The Coop and was renamed to "Studio Questions and Discussion." The sub-forum Suggestions was merged into "Studio Questions and Discussion." Additionally, the link to "Web Site Issues and Support" was renamed to "Site Road Map and Support."
On January 25, 2021, the web site was closed for renovation and migration to the XenForo software. Upon reopening on February 8, 2022, "Site Road Map and Support" was no longer listed under The Coop.

Between January 13-18, 2006, the entire forum was recreated manually when the software changed from Web Wiz Forums to phpBB. During this recreation, the sub-forums were also reorganized into various forum categories, where only a single category was used prior, with the new "General Discussion" category being created.
