Attack Type

Some monsters have an additional Type to the Type listed on the card while attacking or using an Effect. An Effect worded something like "While this Attack Position card is involved in battle, it is also treated as..." is called an Attack Type Effect (this is a kind of Continuous Effect). When using Equip cards that specify a certain type, a monster with that type as an Attack Type would also be a correct target, but the effect of the Equip card (and other effects specific to that Type) only applies when the Attack Position monster is involved in battle.

Card Number (5)

A card's Booster Pack and identification number are listed here. This number is useful for collecting, and for sorting your collection.

ATK (Attack Points) / DEF (Defense Points) (6)

ATK is a monster's Attack Points and DEF is a monster's Defense Points. High Attack and Defense are good when battling!

Card Description (7)

For Normal Monsters, a description of the monster is written here. Other monsters have their effect written here, or instructions on how to use the monster. Normally, the special abilities of Effect Monsters cannot be used while they are Set face-down on the field.
