The System Migration of 2003 was a data loss event that occurred while decommissioning the serially problematic IBM Aptiva computer system running Windows 95, and the white computer system running a custom operating system, and migrating to the Dell computer which ran Windows XP. The event occurred January 8, 2003, according to video documentation of the event.
For many years, a number of projects were attributed as being lost during this event, but they were actually lost during the Hard Drive Crash of 2002. Prior to 2022, the Crash of 2002 was not an officially recognized data loss event.
