Ryan, also called Drian by Clare Phillips, was a member of the club in 1999. Little is known about Ryan because he was in the club for such a short time. However, scholars agree that Ryan was an actual historical figure. His surname is unknown, but he was of Irish descent with brownish hair.

Initiation into the Club

Ted Phillips met Ryan in early April 1998, during Easter break. Ryan was there during the vacation visiting family, as he normally lived somewhere far away. According to The History of Teddy Phillips, by June 14, 1998, Ted and Ryan were already close friends. It is likely that Ryan continued to visit Edgewater Park during vacations from school, such as summer vacation, for a week or two at a time.

Ryan finally met Nick Phillips playing at the playground in Edgewater Park in the beginning of April 1999. A few days later, Ryan was discovered to have lived on the same block: at 65-D Edgewater Park.

This was during the time when the club was organizing itself. The club had already settled on a name, the Fire-Breathing Dragons Club, so most of the the members' time was spent trying to obtain a clubhouse. Because Ryan began playing with the members regularly, they invited him to join the club. Ryan agreed, but his family eventually moved away, supposedly to Florida, by the time the Constitution was written.

Ryan's Participation

Ryan was involved with the club member's efforts to get a clubhouse, and in exploring the nearby house, 37-D Edgewater Park, which had been abandoned and was considered by the members as a candidate for a clubhouse.

Ryan was also present at the first presidential obstacle course. Since this was before the Constitution was written, there was no definite way to determine the president. Teddy Phillips owned a stopwatch, and so formulated the idea that they should hold races. One race held using this stopwatch was the aforementioned obstacle course. Members would have to, one at a time, run along two logs that were on the ground at the "D" Parking Lot, by the ditch at the bottom of the hill leading into Memorial Park. The person who ran across in the shortest amount of time, Teddy Phillips, became president. This event is now known as the "Great Log Race."

The Future of Ryan

Ryan soon moved away from Edgewater Park to Florida, losing all contact with the club. This was before the writing of the Constitution, which is why he was not mentioned in any of the club's records. Due to Ryan's short-lived membership, the gap of time since then, and the lack of information about him, some members question his existence.

Ryan was forgotten until April 2004, when Niki Moto and Pegasus decided to remake the Initiation Test and coined the phrase "Legendary Period," in which Ryan was included. Since Ryan was almost forgotten, with no information left about him, and he was from the Legendary Period, Niki Moto wrote the following couplet, called "The Legend of Ryan":

There once was a kid whose name was Ryan.
And that is the Legend of Ryan.

In early 2005, Niki Moto also began work on an RPG called "The Legend of Ryan," loosely based on club history, and the protagonist is a fictionalized version of Ryan.
