Stupollo 11 was a comic illustrated by Ted Phillips on or before February 17, 1999. It appeared on Ted's Fun Site around that time.

The Joke

The Stupollo 11 comic was inspired by the 1995 film Apollo 13, which Ted had seen on a television broadcast. The film showed scientists and the astronauts using their ingenuity to return the mission home safely. Ted wondered: what if they sent morons to space?

In 1998, Ted had already produced a short called Apollo 11, which sought to answer this question, but it was more directly a Star Wars parody. So in 1999, as Ted was looking for new material for the web site's Comic Vault, Ted revisited the concept and drew this comic.

Disappearance

When Ted's Web Site disappeared in 1999, this comic was no longer available to the public.

After Thingamabob.com2 launched in 2000, Ted intended to re-release the comic, which was still extant, but it was never included in an update.

The comic reappared when the Cracked Egg Studios web site re-released Ted's Fun Site on March 19, 2024.
