CES Human Verification for Project Tools (product ID: ces_pt_human) was a vBulletin software plugin developed by Cracked Egg Studios that extended the features of the first-party plugin vBulletin Project Tools so that guest users who had permission to perform certain actions had to solve challenges to prove they were human. It was developed beginning January 23, 2008, but it was never released to the public. It was cancelled on June 8, 2010.
While the standard vBulletin software had human verification for guest actions, vBulletin Project Tools overlooked this security measure. The plugin added human verification, using the configured human verification options from the vBulletin installation, to new issues and replies posted by guests, as well as guest searches of the project system.
Cracked Egg Studios used the plugin on the company web site, mainly to permit guests to report problems while attempting to create new accounts.
On June 8, 2010, the plugin was cancelled and deleted from the development server. The plugin was saved from becoming a lost project by virtue of being entirely a product-based plugin with no additional files, allowing it to be fully preserved in database backups prior to that date.
