Meeting #16 was a club meeting that took place on Saturday, September 21, 2002 in the living room of 35-D Edgewater Park. It was the Fall 2002 Presidential Election and resulted in Nicholas Phillips's inauguration as the 7th president.

Background

The great summer of 2002 had come to a close. The Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments were still going on, and the future looked bright.

Since the first day of fall was drawing near, Nick Phillips saw that it was time for the Fall 2002 Presidential Election, as well as a club meeting to fulfill the one-meeting-per-month rule. Nick was also planning to host the Pokémon Blue League very soon, so he decided that the meeting would also be a fitting time for contestants to register for the league.

Announcement

He announced in the September 19 newsletter, under the calendar section, for September 21: "club meeting at 1:00 PM (Fall 2002 Election); registration for Pokémon Blue League begins". The 1:00 time slot was likely chosen so that the meeting could take place immediately after the showing of the all-new Ni-Ki-Oh! episode "Battle of the Bandit."

The Meeting

The meeting took place on that day. The registration for the league did not take place as planned, since most of the members did not have enough badges to qualify, but the members did elect their new president.

And thus did Nicholas Phillips become the 7th president of the club. Also, in case you were wondering, the Pokémon Blue League successfully took place a week after the meeting on Saturday, September 28, with Bandit Rich as the victor.
