Woody & Buzz Go to the Ancient Assyrian Empire was a pop-up book written and constructed by Teddy Phillips in late 1998. It was originally created to satisfy a homework assignment for his sixth grade Social Studies class. Woody & Buzz was Ted's second and more successful attempt at pop-ups, his first having been in June 1993 for a book report on Herman Melville's Moby Dick.

Summary

Characters Woody and Buzz Lightyear from the successful 1995 film Toy Story are accidentally transported to Mesopotamia around year 600 B.C. In their educational exploration of the region, they ultimately find themselves caught in the middle of an ancient conflict between Assyrian and Chaldean armies.
