We Still Need is a poem written by Ted Phillips in February 2007. It had not been Ted's original intent to create poetry when he first started writing it, but David Collura, Ted's roommate at NYU, discovered it written on a small piece of paper that was lying around their dorm. He enjoyed it so much, commenting, "Hey, Ted, I really like this poem you wrote!" that he read it aloud to Ted and Nick Phillips. The poem read as follows:

Ted Phillips said:
Trash Bags
Scouring Pads
Garlic Powder
Sliced Bread
Clothes Detergent
Dryer Sheets
* Large Ziploc Freezer Bags

In April 2007, Nick Phillips included "We Still Need" in a poetry anthology, which was an assignment for his twelfth grade English class.
